'Pray for SPB...the legend of our lifetime': Prayers go high for the singer who remains critical!

Wishes have been lining up for reputed playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam for his speedy recovery after his battle against the COVID-19 viral infection had taken a disturbing turn after the treating hospital in Chennai said that his health condition remains critical and he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and getting treated under life support. 

From celebrities, fraternities to fans, people across and beyond the borders have been sending their wishes and prayers to the multilingual artist that have been going higher to have him back to his normal life. Social medial platforms are filled with the love of what SP Balasubrahmanyam had earned and treasured during his entire career. 

Oscar winning composer AR Rahman is one among to send the wishes for the singer's speedy recovery. AR Rahman took to Twitter and said, "I request all the music fans to pray for this legend along with me ..#SPBalasubrahmanyam ..he has given us so much joy with his amazing voice!" Actor Dhanush had appealed to everyone to pray for the reputed artist. 

 

Celebrities like musicians Devi Sri Prasad, Harris Jayaraj, Actor Shekhar Kapur, film producer Boney Kapoor, actress Sunaina, Keerthy Suresh, Khushbu Sundar, Ramya Krishnan, Cricketer Ashwin, and commentator Harsha Bhogle had shared their wishes and prayers for the playback singer, who has been battling for life. 

 

 

 

On August 5, SP Balasubrahmanyam had tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection and he was admitted to the MGM Healthcare Hospital in Chennai. Though he had minor symptoms and said he would be discharged in a few days, the treating hospital has, on Friday, put out the shocking development concerning his health condition. In an official statement, the hospital said, "There has been a setback in the health of Thiru SP Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare for symptoms of COVID-19 since 5th August 2020".

The statement further reads that "In a late-night development on 13th August 2020, his condition had deteriorated, and based on the advice of the expert medical team attending to him, he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and he is on life support and his condition remains critical". The hospital further stated, "He is currently under observation by the team of experts from critical care and his haemodynamic and clinical parameters are being closely monitored". 

On August 5, he released a video message after testing positive for the Coronavirus infection and he stated "I am in good hands, they are taking good care of me. I have good health. I'm perfectly alright except for the cold and fever. Fever has also subsided and I will be discharged in two days and I will be home. I have come here mostly to take rest so there won't be any disturbance to me and to take medication. I am fine, I will be fine".

However, the recent development has shocked many across and beyond the borders as he holds a special and unparalleled place in the film industry with an immense reputation and great following. As a multilingual artist, SP Balasubrahmanyam has been bestowed with multiple national awards and he has sung over 40,000 songs in 16 languages.
