In his second leg of maiden overseas tour to the United States, the Chief minister of Tamilnadu Edappadi Palaniswami had attracted the row of potential investments from the American companies to install their plants and wings in the state of Tamilnadu.
The reports from the empire state circulating the visit have said that about sixteen US based companies had shown their interests and commitments to pour their investments in the state of Tamilnadu. It has been reported that these companies will extend its investments of Rs 2,780 crores after the companies had signed an agreement with the delegation of Tamilnadu in the presence of Tamilnadu Chief minister in an investors meeting held at New York.
Some of those companies which will branch out their roots in Tamilnadu are Jean Martin, Scitus Pharma, Novitium Labs, Zillion technologies and Aspire consulting whereas Haldia Petrochemicals have exclusively signed an agreement with Tamilnadu for an in principle investment of Rs 50,000 crore to install its plant in the state of Tamilnadu. The reports stated that the Chief minister had held and tabled direct talks with the business heads and representatives of various US companies to promote large scale investments in the state by picturing the facilities that are in place in the state to develop the infrastructure and to cement the platform to have smooth and profitable executions of business.
The statement released by the visiting delegation had proclaimed that these potential and new investments will water more benefits and opportunities to the young people of Tamilnadu where it has been estimated that over 25,000 jobs will be created through the American investments. At this investors meet, the state of Tamilnadu had tabled the prospects of being the destination for overseas investments in the areas of electric vehilces manufacturing, aerospace and in fintech.
The meeting also had the presence of higher officials of Caterpillar and Ford motors, which had already flagged its investments in the state, along with the state ministers and respective secretaries of state departments.
The United States tour is the second leg of overseas tour of the state Chief minister Edappadi Palaniswami which he aimed to attract and acquire knowledge and foreign investments along with his cabinet ministerial colleagues. Before disembarking his second leg of tour, he had previously toured British capital London where the state had signed agreements to enhance and to upgrade the healthcare sector in Tamilnadu. After he had wrapped up his tour in the U.S, he will take part in the investors meeting in Dubai which was organized by the Indian Embassy and the government of United Arab Emirates, before returning to Chennai on September 10th, 2019.
