Popular Tamil actor Vikram has tested positive for the Covid-19 viral infection, a disruption that he never wished for amid the busy schedule with several movies on the pipeline. The announcement that he had tested positive for the pandemic was made on Thursday and the 55-year-old actor has been isolated at his residence.
Vikram's manager Suryanarayanan has confirmed that the actor has contracted the viral infection and asserted that the actor is doing fine and has nothing to worry. He said on social media, "Dear well-wishers, very mild only and nothing to worry. Thanks for your prayers." After knowing the development, the ardent fans of the actor and fraternities have been expressing their wishes to the actor for a speedy recovery.
Vikram has been taking part in the shooting of the movie 'Cobra', helmed by Ajay Gnanamuthu and he also has been acting in a key role in Mani Ratnam's magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan'. Earlier this month, it was announced that Vikram will be teaming up with director Pa Ranjith for the movie that has been tentatively named 'Chiyaan 61'. The announcement was made by Studio Green, which produces the movie and it is the first time that Vikram is joining hands with Pa Ranjith.
Vikram is awaiting the release of 'Mahaan' in which he co-stars with his son and actor Dhruv Vikram. The movie has roped in Vani Bhojan as the female lead and while it is bankrolled by Seven Screen Studio, it is directed by Karthick Subbaraj. Mahaan is the first-time collaboration between the father-son duo. Earlier this week, actor Arjun Sarja had announced that he had tested positive for the pandemic and asserted that he is doing well.
Arjun announced the news of testing positive for the novel coronavirus on social media. He said, "Hi everyone, I have tested positive for Covid-19. I have taken all the necessary protocols and isolated myself. I request everyone who has come in close contact with me to get themselves tested and take care." "I'm doing well. Please stay safe everyone and don't forget about your masks just yet", he added. Recently, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan has also tested positive and got recovered following a week-long hospitalization.
