Popular music composer D Imman, who is a laureate of the National Award, has on Wednesday- December 29 announced that he has divorced his wife Monicka Richard and ended his 13 years of marriage. The 38-year-old composer has tied the knot in 2008 and he has issued a statement concerning the divorce on social media and appealed to the well-wishers to give the couple privacy towards moving forward.
In a statement that came from nowhere, Imman said, "To all my well wishers and ardent music lovers who have been supportive all along. I am grateful for that. As life takes us on different paths, Monicka Richard and I have legally divorced by mutual consent as of November 2020 and are no longer husband and wife. I request all our well wishers, music lovers, and the media to give us our privacy and help us to move on and move forward."

D Imman, who has recently composed music for the blockbuster hit 'Annaatthe' starred by Rajinikanth, is well known for his work in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi industries. He rose to national prominence when he won a National Award this year for composing music for the super hit movie 'Viswasam' starred by Ajith and Nayanthara. Apart from the National Award, he also won SIIMA Award for Best Music Director.
D Imman had made his debut as the music director in the 2002 movie 'Thamizhan' starred by Vijay and Priyanka Chopra. Some of his well-known works as a music director include the movies Giri, Mynaa, Kumki, Kayal, Jeeva, Jilla, Rajini Murugan, Kadaikutty Singam, Kennedy Club, Namma Veettu Pillai, Bhoomi, Teddy, Laabam, and Udanpirappe.
He has several projects in the pipeline including 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan' starred by Suriya and Poikaal Kuthirai, starred by Prabhu Deva. Besides being a renowned music composer, Imman has been a prominent singer and Imman and Monicka Richard couple have two children - Blessica Kathy Imman and Veronica Dorothy Imman. Born as Immanuel Vasanth Dinakaran, Imman has composed songs for over 100 films across several languages and his only Bollywood stint was his background score for the romantic film 'Khwahish' starred by Mallika Sherawat.
