In what has become a shocking development, reputed Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in Kochi as the sequel of the internal injuries and he has been placed under observation. 

According to reports close to the development, the actor has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in a private hospital in Kochi, Kerala after he developed internal injuries when he was shooting for the movie 'Kala'. The actor had complained of severe stomach pain on Tuesday and he was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday for further treatments. 

He has been placed under observation in the ICU for 24 hours. According to a local news channel, Tovino Thomas had got an injury when he received a kick to his stomach during the shooting. Initially,  the actor had suffered a little pain and resumed the shooting. However, he started developing severe pain following which he was admitted at the Renai Medi City in Kochi on Wednesday. 

The actor has suffered internal bleeding. Though his injuries are not serious, the treating doctors will be evaluating whether he needs surgery. The treating hospital is yet to release the bulletin concerning his hospitalization. The thespian has been shooting for the movie 'Kala', directed by VS Rohith and the movie has inducted actors like Lal, Divya Pillai, and Sumesh Moor in the important roles. 

'Kala' would be the story that revolves around a special relationship between a man and his pet dog and this pet dog will be playing a crucial role in the movie. Tovino Thomas has been emerging as one of the most reputed actors in Malayalam and beyond through his remarkable acting and appearances in the movies including Uyare, Virus, Lucifer, Luca, Forensic, and Charlie. 

With having consecutive releases over the past two years, Tovino Thomas has become one of the busiest actors in Malayalam. His last movie was 'Kilometers and Kilometers' and while it was planned for the theatrical release in March, it was deferred owing to the COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions. It was finally released on Asianet during the Onam festival. 

Last year, the actor had suffered burn injuries when he was shooting for the film 'Edakkad Batallion 06'. He later recovered and return to the shooting and his compassion towards acting had earned him more fans and reputation. His next movie is 'Minnal Murali' and it has been getting filmed currently.
