In a shocking piece of news, popular television actor Sidharth Shukla has passed away on Thursday at the age of 40 in Mumbai due to cardiac arrest. Shukla was also the winner of Bigg Boss season 13. The untimely demise has become an utter shock to the fans and fraternities as he has breathed his last when he had been surging to prominence in the Bollywood industry. A few days ago, he made an appearance on Bigg Boss OTT as a guest star and after learning about his demise, hundreds of thousands of fans across and beyond the borders have been paying tribute to the departed soul.
PTI has quoted the senior official of Cooper Hospital in Mumbai that, "He was brought dead to the hospital some time ago (on Thursday)." Sidharth had held a major fan following after he became a popular face on Indian television. He had begun his career in showbiz as a model and made his debut in acting with a lead role in the television show 'Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na'. Sidharth had earned more prominence through his role as protagonist Shiv in the serial 'Balika Vadhu' and it was a huge hit and went on to have dubbed in several languages.
Sidharth Shukla had then appeared on shows such as 'Jaane Pehchaane Se Ye Ajnabbi' and 'Love U Zindagi'. However, his acting in Balika Vadhu has won the tag of becoming a household name. He also had participated in reality shows including 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 6' and 'Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7'. Shukla had also participated in the Bigg Boss season 13, hosted by Salman Khan, and he won the title, which further poured more popularity on him. Recently, he had made an appearance on Bigg Boss OTT, hosted by Karan Johar, as a guest star.
Shukla has made his Bollywood debut in 2014 with the Karan Johar-produced 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' where he had acted in a supporting role. The movie was starred Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, and Ashutosh Rana. Having been acted in dozens of movies, the actor was last seen in Ekta Kapoor's show 'Broken But Beautiful 3' where he played the role of Agastya. According to reports, Shukla has recently announced his film 'Silsila SidNaaz Ka' with Shehnaaz Gill, who is rumoured to be his girlfriend. The duo was popularly known as SidNaaz and both of them had met during Bigg Boss 13.
On Thursday, Sidharth had suffered a heart attack after which he was rushed to the Cooper Hospital in Mumbai. However, he was declared brought dead to the hospital and condolences have been pouring in after his demise. The hospital has performed an autopsy and Sidharth was surviving by his mother and two sisters. Sidharth had one million followers on Twitter and his last tweet was on August 30 in which he congratulated the para-athletes for winning the gold medal in the ongoing Tokyo Paralympics. He wrote, "Indians making us proud over and over again… a World Record in addition to the #Gold in #Paralympics … congratulations #SumitAntil and #AvaniLekhara."
Actor Salman Khan took to Twitter and wrote, "Gone too soon Siddharth.. u shall be missed. Condolences to the family .. RIP". Akshay Kumar tweeted, "Really sad to know about the passing away of #SiddharthShukla. I didn’t know him personally but it’s heartbreaking to know of such a talented life gone so soon. Om Shanti". Actor Kapil Sharma wrote, "Oh god, it’s really shocking n heartbreaking, my condolences to the family n prayers for the departed soul. Om Shanti." Actor Ajay Devgn said, "Life & death are both baffling. But when someone as young as #SidharthShukla passes away with suddenness, one is very sad... Condolences to his family. RIP Sidharth".
