The second part of Mani Ratnam’s epic saga Ponniyin Selvan has set the box office on fire with its phenomenal collections. The film is a tribute to the visionary director Mani Ratnam and his team of talented artists who have brought alive the epic story of Ponniyin Selvan on the big screen.

The film, which was released on April 28 in five languages, has crossed over 200 crores worldwide in just four days, according to the official statement of Lyca Productions. The film is also expected to join the elite club of 500 crores soon. Ponniyin Selvan 2 is a visual spectacle that showcases the glorious history of the Chola dynasty and its legendary rulers. The film boasts a stellar star cast including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Rahman and Vikram Prabhu. The film has received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike for its grandeur, cinematography, music, and performances.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy, which is considered as one of the finest works of Tamil literature. The film is divided into two parts, with the first released in January this year and the second released recently. The two film parts have been made with a whopping budget of 500 crores by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies.

The film has also created a huge buzz in the international markets, especially in North America, and it has collected over 10 crores in Kerala alone. The film has also received a positive response from the North too, who have appreciated the dubbed version of the film.
