In a shocking piece of news, a 48-year-old techie in Chennai jumped to death from his office building on Saturday night. The incident happened at a complex of a software firm on the Thoraipakkam- Pallavaram radial road in the outskirts of Chennai.
The deceased techie was identified as Shyam Sundar, who was a resident of Porur, Chennai. He was working as a manager at a software company for the past one year. It has been reported that he died due to work pressure. On Saturday night, he walked out of his office and went to the seventh floor. Eventually, he jumped from the seventh floor.
A security guard heard a sound and went to the spot. He was shocked to notice Shyam Sundar had jumped from the seventh floor. The guard immediately informed to the staff in the company and later, the incident was reported to the Thoraippakam police.
After arriving at the spot, the police officials took Shyam Sundar to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Sundar's body was sent to the Government Royapettah Hospital to conduct an autopsy. The police had launched a probe into his death and as they didn't recover any suicide note, the officials questioned the employees and other staff of the company.
Based on the preliminary investigations, the police said that Shyam Sundar couldn't able to manage his work pressure and the Thoraipakkam Police Inspector Senthil Murugan said that Shyam Sundar was disturbed for the past one week. "He was not able to perform well and faced difficulty in completing his work. Though he disliked his work, he was forced to do the job as he was repaying a bank loan", the Inspector added.
