Pathu Thala directed by Obeli N Krishna opened to theatres today on March 30th, 2023, starring Simbu and Gautham Karthik who delivers stellar performances as the don and the cop who cross paths in a dangerous world. The film was released on 30 March 2023 and received positive reviews for its performances, direction, music, and action sequences.

The film is a brilliant adaptation of the Kannada hit Mufti, with a stellar ensemble cast and a riveting plot. The film releases in close to 450 theatres across Tamil Nadu. Alongside Simbu, the film stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Teejay, Joe Malloori, Gautham Menon, Redin Kingsley, and others.

Obeli. N. Krishna is returning to Tamil filmmaking after eight years; this has increased anticipation for the film, as both of his previous efforts-  Sillunu Oru Kaadhal and Nedunchalai, were commercial successes. The music was composed by AR Rahman, and the post-digital streaming rights were bagged by Amazon Prime Video.

Produced by Jayantilal Gada and KE Gnanavelraja's Studio Green, Praveen KL is handling the editing and Farook Basha is taking care of the cinematography. The film's first half is said to set the foundation for a substantial build-up that leads to a remarkable entrance by Silambarasan in the pre-interval scene, according to the Twitter review.
