The exciting planting season was started in Udhagamandalam and the flower exhibition to be held in 2021 summer at the Botanic gardens of Ooty. Because of the pandemic, the the124th Flower show has not happened,  the district administration stated in a press release. 

Collector Innocent Divya said, "Due to corona impairment, the flower show has not been held this year. The flower show will be carried in May 2021. The planting work for this world-famous flower exhibition has started.  

To entice tourists this time around, more than 5 lakh flowering plants of 290 sorts including Astilme, Alkimilla, Erysipelas, Cinnabaria, Geranium, GlaxoSmithKline, Ranunculus, Ornamental Gale, Oriental Lily imported from Japan, Germany and the Netherlands, are to be planted. These are ready for the summer season. "
