One year of MK Stalin's reign: TN Minister announces MLAs would get playgrounds as reward!

As the DMK is celebrating the one year rule of MK Stalin in the state by conducting events and disseminating the welfare programmes launched by his government in the last year, Tamil Nadu Minister Meyyanathan has announced that the legislators would get playgrounds as a reward for their constituencies with the view of organizing sports activities. 

Meyyanathan, who has been serving as the Minister for Environment, Climate Change, and Youth Affairs, has on Friday - May 6 said that the members of the legislative assembly will get playgrounds as prizes in their constituencies. He said, "Outdoor games will be conducted for MLAs and the Ministers soon and members securing top three places will be given playgrounds as prizes in their own constituencies." 

The Minister was responding in the assembly session to the question raised by ADMK's Coordinator and Deputy Opposition Leader O Panneerselvam, who had asked the state government whether there are any plans for the government to establish a playground specifically for the Ministers and the MLAs. The minister underlined that the DMK government has been taking efforts to augment the sports facilities at the MLA hostel in Chennai.

Meyyanthan said that after coming to power, Chief Minister MK Stalin has established an indoor badminton stadium at the MLA hostel and added that the gym in the MLA hostel will be enhanced for the use of the MLAs. It must be noted that the state government had already announced the construction of a stadium at the cost of Rs 3 crore per stadium for every constituency.
