Actor Suriya's upcoming movie Jai Bhim's teaser was released on Friday - October 15, on the occasion of the Dussehra holidays. Jai Bhim has been slated for an OTT release during this Diwali and the teaser has poured a promise that the movie will present a real fight for justice. The teaser runs for a minute and 30 seconds in which Suriya, who appears as an advocate, displays his wrath over the caste and audacity to fight it.
Jai Bhim will be getting released on Amazon Prime Video on November 2, two days ahead of Diwali. On Friday, Amazon Prime took to Twitter and released the teaser of the movie. It wrote, "This Diwali, witness the fight against injustice with Suriya. Watch #JaiBhimOnPrime, on Nov 2." Amid massive attention that the teaser has gained given for its crew and storyline, actor Suriya said Jai Bhim will be an intense one and will be close to his heart.
In a statement that he released on social media, Suriya said, "I strongly believe true stories can bring true changes in the society...#JaiBhim will be an intense one and is close to my heart." The teaser was unveiled at 2 pm on Friday and by the time of writing this content, it has already garnered over 7 lakh views and gained a significant reception. Suriya's one question 'Is any caste devoid of thieves?' has added more power to his fight against injustice. He replies that there are thieves in every caste, thereby the teaser ends.
Jai Bhim, which is a legal drama film, is bankrolled by Suriya and Jyothika under their own banner 2D Entertainment and it is directed by TJ Gnanavel. While Suriya acts in a lead role, Prakash Raj, Rajisha Vijayan, Bava Chelladurai, and Lijomol Jose have been acting in important roles. The story is based on a real-life incident that happened in 1993 during which former High Court judge Justice Chandru fights for a couple from a tribal community when he was an advocate.
Suriya will be seen as a lawyer for the first time and Jai Bhim will also stream in Telugu and it will also be dubbed and premiered in Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The teaser features derogatory remarks against a woman from a backward caste and it also shows police brutality. While Sean Roldan has composed the music for the movie, SR Kathir and Philomin Raj had done cinematography and editing respectively.
Jai Bhim is part of the deal inked between Suriya's 2D Entertainment and Amazon Prime Video. As per the deal, 2D Entertainment will be releasing four movies in four months - September, October, November, and December on Amazon Prime. The movie 'Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum' was released in September and 'Udanpirappe' was released on October 14 while 'Jai Bhim' and 'Oh My doG' will be released on Amazon Prime in November and December respectively. The Tamil fans will be witnessing the release of three movies during this Diwali - Suriya's 'Jai Bhim', Rajinikanth's 'Annaatthe', and Simbu's 'Maanaadu'.
