As predicted by the meteorological department, the Northeast monsoonal clouds had brought in huge rainfall to the city of Chennai and its suburbs for the second consecutive day as the residents of the city had the mixed scenes of witnessing the rainfall on one hand and hosting the water stagnation on the other hand where most of the roads and streets have been occupied by the rain water that had somehow pictured the lag of preparedness.

The downtown areas of the city including Anna nagar, Nungambakkam, T Nagar, Alandur had seen good spell of rainfall while the suburban areas like OMR, Meenambakkam had accounted for similar pattern of rains that lasted over midnight.
