No positive case for the COVID-19 in the premises - asserts Isha Yoga center!

Amid the Coronavirus outbreak, the Tamil Nadu based Isha Foundation has, on Wednesday, asserted that the yoga center doesn't house the people affected by the global pandemic in its premises and claimed that the foreign nationals who visited the center have been asked to observe 28-day quarantine period.

Isha Foundation is popularly known for hosting Maha Shivratri every year that would be attended by thousands of people across the country and beyond the borders and the center has organized this year's edition of Maha Shivratri in February and the event had witnessed the presence of several international visitors. According to the reports, Isha Yoga foundation has been accommodating about 150 foreign nationals who had come to attend the event.

 

The Coimbatore district administration has stated that the foreigners have arrived in the yoga center before the government has announced the complete lockdown and imposed a curfew and they are currently kept under quarantine in the premises of the Isha Foundation and they have been regularly monitored and going through a complete health check-up. On Tuesday, Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Beela Rajesh said that the state government has been obtaining the details of Indians and foreign nationals who had arrived in the state after February 15th.

The international visitors to the Isha Yoga center are also on the government's checklist. Amid the developments, Isha Yoga center has stated that it has no coronavirus affected patients in its premises. In the statement, the center said that it had acted much prior to the lockdown and restrictions imposed by the state and central governments. The foundation claimed that it had asked the visitors from China, Japan, Singapore, and other virus-hit countries not to travel to the yoga center and this advisory has been issued as the precautionary measure for travelers and the larger community.

It has asserted that the Isha Foundation has been ensuring to follow standard medical protocols including mandatory screening and social distancing and the people who have arrived in the center from abroad have been requested to observe a 28-day quarantine period to prevent from the virus. It also added that the volunteers and residents have been going through the screening every two days and the health department officials have been visiting the center for screening since February and the people here have tested negative for the virus.

The mandatory protocols would also be applicable for the housekeeping, ground staff, and security at the foundation and the hand sanitizers have been kept in place at several locations on the premises. The Isha Foundation has recently announced that it had offered the premises to the state government towards containing and combating the spread of the Coronavirus in the state.
