He stated that it was a great privilege for him to play for the franchise. The reports say that Watson had already retired from International Cricket in 2018 and he was bought by the CSK in the same year.
Watson was one of the crucial picks for CSK and in 2018, his unbeaten century in the IPL Final had helped the men in yellow to win the title for the third time. Before being inducted by the CSK, Watson had played for Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore and he had etched his contribution strongly in the Indian Premier League. Shane Watson had played 11 games this season and scored 299 runs with the help of two fifties. The Aussie had maintained an intimate relationship with CSK skipper MS Dhoni, which Watson had many times expressed his gratitude to the captain cool. Shane Watson retires from the IPL by scoring 3,874 runs at an average of 30.99 with the help of four centuries and 21 fifties.
