The 'Delhi Chalo' farmers protest at NewDelhi borders are going infinite as today is the 36th day.
An agreement was reached on two fronts in the sixth round of talks held yesterday by the Union Government of Punjab Agrarian Union with 41 representatives of the Agricultural Association, Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister of Agriculture, Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce, Som Prakash, Internet Minister. But the discussion was endlessly continued over agricultural laws and the so-called minimum resource price (MSP). Hence, the meeting was dated again to meet on Jan 4.
On Thursday, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan drove a resolution in the State’s assembly against the three farm reforms introduced by the Central government in September. He said, "The current situation makes it clear that if this agitation continues, it will seriously affect Kerala. There is no doubt that Kerala will starve if the supply of food items from other states stops,”
In addition to this, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted that, "It is sad that our farmer brothers and sisters, who are protesting would welcome New Year out on roads and away from homes. A sensitive, responsive govt would never let this happen.”
