As we reported earlier that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's son Udhayanidhi will become a Tamil Nadu Minister soon, new details that have emerged from the development have affirmed that the stage is set of Udhayanidhi's elevation and that he is going to get something big from his father as the latter inducts his son into his ministry after rolling out what would be the first major cabinet reshuffle under his rule. 

Udhayanidhi Stalin is currently serving as the Secretary of DMK's Youth wing, which is the party's vital arm and he is also an elected MLA, representing the Chepauk-Triplicane constituency in Chennai. With the affirmation that he will hit the jackpot by becoming a minister this time, Udhayanidhi will be celebrating his first New Year as a minister and of course with key portfolios. 

It's been one-and-a-half-year since the DMK government was formed in Tamil Nadu under MK Stalin and the next Lok Sabha poll is one-and-a-half-year away from now. While there were several deferments in elevating Udhayanidhi as a minister, MK Stalin has finally given his nod to advance his son's political venture by appointing him as a minister and our sources say there were several rounds of discussions held within MK Stalin's close circle including his family on the finally date and portfolio for the actor-turned-politician. 

According to our sources, Udhayanidhi Stalin will take oath as the minister on December 14 during which MK Stalin will roll out a major cabinet overhaul. Initially, it was reported that Udhayanidhi will become the Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development through which he can have a good connect with the young people across the state at a high time when the DMK government is planning to develop the sports ecosystem. 

It was also said that Udhayanidhi will also take the additional role of Rural Development. However, the new details have revealed that though these two portfolios may be additional tasks for Udhayanidhi, he is going to get something big from his father, Chief Minister MK Stalin. Our sources say that it is most likely that Udhayanidhi will be given the powerful portfolio of special programme implementation.

Why it's powerful? Because this Special Programme Implementation comes under the direct purview of Chief Minister MK Stalin and most importantly, this portfolio oversees the implementation of special programme and promises made by MK Stalin at all levels, which means that Udhayanidhi can enjoy the control of these programmes implemented by all departments and ministries. 

Several reports divulge that this portfolio was the first choice of MK Stalin's family and it was decided keeping in mind that Udhayanidhi can discharge his powers across all the ministries. It has been said that the portfolio of Special Programme Implementation is so close to MK Stalin and as his son is going to pitch in as a minister for the first time, he has decided to award this big role to Udhayanidhi. 

Our sources further say that after Udhayanidhi Stalin becomes the minister of special programme implementation, the current commissioner of Chennai Corporation, Gagandeep Singh Bedi will be appointed as the principal secretary of special programme implementation to assist Udhayanidhi. On the other hand, Udhayanidhi is yet to apparently divulge about his ministerial venture and recently, he said that he is mulling leaving cinema to concentrate on politics.
