The Tamil Nadu police had, on Tuesday, registered a case against Tamil Orator Nellai Kannan for his controversial speech and provocative comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Kannan was addressing the event that was organized by the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) in Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu and through his address, he spurred fresh allegations against the Central and the state governments. In his address, he publicly said that Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister but Amit Shah is his brain and if Amit Shah is finished then Modi will be finished too and by pointing out the leaders and the Muslim dignitaries on the dais, Kannan said that 'none of you are doing it'.
After his statement gone viral over the social media, the Tamil Nadu unit of BJP has filed an official complaint to initiate actions against Nellai Kannan and along with the political body, several BJP leaders had filed complaints against Kannan following which the police department has booked him under the grounds of Section 504 -provoking with intention, Section 505 (1) -committing an offense against the state or the public tranquility and Section 505 (2) - committing offense in religious ceremony.
Tamil Nadu BJP General Secretary K.S.Narendran tabled his complaint before the state Director General of Police to direct actions against the Tamil Orator by claiming that his comments are against national integrity and would incite the riots and communal clash. BJP's state spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathy is one among the leaders to submit his complaint and he cited that Nellai Kannan had abused the political leaders and stated that Kannan has expressed his shock as to why Muslims have not yet killed the Prime Minister and Home Minister. By requesting the authorities to detain Nellai Kannan, Thirupathy said that the Tamil orator's speech had incited the enmity between the religious groups.
While addressing the reporters in Karaikudi, BJP's National Secretary H Raja questioned Nellai Kannan on how he got the bravado in inciting the people against Prime Minister and Home Minister. Raja urged the Congress party to take action against Kannan, who belongs to the Congress party and asked the state government of Tamil Nadu to arrest Nellai Kannan immediately.
