Nationwide Lockdown: A TN man dies in Hyd after walking 450 kilometers!

While, on one hand, the government iterates that the nationwide lockdown is the only way to curb and combat the spread of the virus, on the other hand, the unprecedented experiment of the complete lockdown plays hard on the migrant workers, people from the other state and low and middle-class people as the lockdown has suspended the transportations and closed the borders leaving the people of these categories stranded far away from their homes.

Most of the stranded people have been accommodated by the respective state governments while some of them pick the toughest passage - walking hundreds of kilometers to cross the borders to rejoin with their families and thousands of people have been choosing this way as the last resort in the absence of the transportation channels. A 23-year-old student from Tamil Nadu was one of them. He took the road and started walking towards his home town from Wardha, Maharashtra.

Earlier, a 39-year-old man who was working in a restaurant in Delhi as a home delivery worker had died in Agra on March 28th. He was returning to his hometown of Morena district of Madhya Pradesh from Delhi and when he arrived in Agra, he has covered 200 kilometers by foot after which he was exhausted and died. The autopsy report said that he has died due to the heart attack and the exhaustion of long walk could have triggered his pre-existing heart condition. According to The Wire, India has reported 22 deaths that were related to the nationwide lockdown.
