Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath won't be attending his father's funeral and last rites in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak and due to the nationwide lockdown that has been implemented to combat the spread of human to human transmitting virus.
According to the reports, Chief Minister's father Anand Bisht was passed away on Monday morning. Uttar Pradesh's Additional Chief Secretary for Home issued the conformity of the demise through the statement in which it was stated that the Chief Minister's father has died at 10.44 am on Monday.
The reports say that Anand Bisht was undergoing treatment at the gastroenterology department in the All India Insitute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. He was admitted to the hospital after his health went into critical condition. Bisht was aged 89. Congress general Secretary Priyanka Gandhi had placed condolences to the Chief Minister.

According to the ANI News Agency, Yogi Adityanath said that he will not take part in the last rites of his father on Tuesday with the view of ensuring the enforcement of the lockdown and to defeat the Coronavirus Pandemic in the state. Uttar Pradesh, which is one of the largest states in India both in the area and in the population, has been reported one of the highest numbers of positive cases for the virus in the country.
According to the official figures issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Uttar Pradesh has reported with 1084 positive cases of which 108 had discharged while 17 people have died so far as of Monday morning. At the national level, India has reported with 17,265 positive cases of which 2547 have recovered and discharged while 543 people have succumbed to the virus.
