Three years after asserting that he will be entering electoral politics, actor and political hopeful Rajinikanth has now closed the gates for politics and locked them tightly after he made a major decision of not to enter politics. The superstar would remain as a political hopeful when his fans and members are hoping that he would become an active politician. Days after breaking the suspense by announcing that he would launch the political party, Rajinikanth has written a conclusion for his political drama on Tuesday through his three-paged statement.
The actor wrote the conclusion and took a turn to back off from politics at a high time when he was half-way through launching the political party by December 31. While the clock was ticking to the deadline to know his political entry, the actor has now stopped the clock and announced that he will not enter electoral politics owing to his health condition. The COVID-19 outbreak had applied a brake in the actor's pace of launching the political party like how it menaced the entire world.
Admitting that his decision of not entering politics would disappoint everyone, the superstar has asked his fans and Tamil Nadu people for an apology for taking the decision and requested them to accept it. Rajinikanth had expressed his inability to campaign and enter politics during the spread of the pandemic, after four members of the technical crew of his upcoming movie 'Annaatthe' had tested positive for the COVID-19 infection. Following the development, the movie shooting was postponed and Rajinikanth had gone through COVID-19 testing, which returned negative.
In his three-page letter, Rajinikanth said, "After announcing that I will launch the political party in January, I went to Hyderabad by transcending the doctors' advise to take part in the Annaatthe movie shooting. We had held the shooting very cautiously through wearing facemasks and carrying out tests daily. Amid the tight preventive measure, four members of the crew had tested positive. I got COVID negative but I had a fluctuation in blood pressure. Medically, I shouldn't face fluctuation in blood pressure as it would adversely affect my transplanted kidney. So, as per doctors' advise, I was hospitalized for three days".
The actor penned, "With the view of my health condition, movie producer Kalanithi Maran had postponed the shooting which had affected many lives and caused a major loss. My health condition is the reason for all these things. I see this health complication as a warning given to me by God. It's impossible to secure a political uprising and a big victory by fully depending on news media and social media campaign after I start the political party. Those who have experience in politics won't deny this fact and I will have to go to the people for campaigning and meet thousands and lakhs of people".
Rajinikanth stated, "Even if the COVID-19 vaccine comes, if something happens to my health since I take immunosuppressants, the fans and members who have trusted me and joined me will have to face several difficulties both mentally and financially. Just because people will question me after I gave my word that I'm entering politics, I don't wish to sacrifice my allies and friends. Forgive me because this decision will cause disappointment to those in Rajini Makkal Mandram and those who expected that I will enter politics".
He said, "I deeply regret to announce that I can't be able to launch the party and enter politics. Only I know the pain that I felt when I made this announcement. This announcement will disappoint the members of Rajini Makkal Mandram, fans, and people who expect that I will start a political party. Forgive me". "The members of the Mandram had rendered their services to people for the past three years, including during Corona lockdown, by bounding to my word and honesty. Such services won't go vain and those blessings will save you and your families. When you have said that you will accept whatever decision I make during the meeting on November 30, I will never forget that word in my lifetime. I bow to the love and affection you had for me. Rajini Makkal Mandram will be functioning as usual".
In his statement, Rajinikanth has thanked Tamilaruvi Manian and Arjuna Moorthy for co-operating with him and asking him to take care of his health. The superstar said, "I'll try my best to do service for the people without entering electoral politics. I have never hesitated to speak the truth. Hence, I request my fans, Tamil people to accept my decision".
Rajinikanth's announcement of not entering politics has come two days ahead of when he said he would be announcing about his political party. Earlier this month, the actor said that he would launch his political party in January 2021 and would contest in the upcoming state assembly polls. He had vowed that it's time to change the fate of Tamil Nadu and requested the people to stand by him. By proposing spiritual politics, Rajinikanth said, "With great support from people, honest, righteous, transparent, corruption-free, casteless, secular, and spiritual politics will be formed in Tamil Nadu in the upcoming assembly polls. Wonder, Miracle will happen".
However, days after his announcement, Rajinikanth has now closed the gates by deciding not to enter politics due to his health condition. His announcement of not entering politics has come two days after he was discharged from the Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad. He got discharged from the hospital on Sunday after getting treated for high blood pressure. Following discharge, the doctors' had advised the superstar to take complete bed rest for a week, maintain limited physician activity, avoid stress, and importantly, the doctors had advised him not to undertake activities that would put him at risk of contracting the COVID-19 viral infection. The hospital has issued advise by considering his health history, his age, renal transplantation, and suffering from hypertension. Rajinikanth has written a conclusion to his political drama by stating that his political entry will never happen.
