Renowned Malayalam actress Parvathy Thiruvothu is all set to feature in her seventh Tamil film 'Thangalaan', directed by Pa. Ranjith and starring the versatile Chiyaan Vikram. The film is based on the true events surrounding the Kolar Gold Fields and features a star-studded cast including Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathi, Harikrishnan Anbudurai, and popular English actor David Caltagirone.
Recently, Parvathy opened up about her role in 'Thangalaan' in an interview with an online portal. The actress expressed her admiration for the rough and tough shooting of the film and praised some of the moments on set. According to her, this role has been her "biggest struggle as an actress". She also expressed surprise at how people lived during the early days and hopes that the audience will enjoy the film when watching it in theaters.

English actor Daniel Caltagirone, who has starred in films including The Beach and The Pianist, plays the lead role in the film. The film narrates the story that takes place in the 1870s, the pre-independence era. Producer Gnanavel in an interview with us revealed that Vikram’s character in the film is named Thangalaan and so is the title.
