While fans and fraternities from across and beyond the borders have been sending their wishes and paying tribute to Indian Cricket Legend MS Dhoni (39) after he announced retirement from the International cricket, on Saturday, senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy took to Twitter and expressed his wish to give him different grounds, one that Captain Cool firmly refused last year.
Swamy's wish has been doing rounds across social media amid fans celebrating him for leaving a golden legacy behind and for giving the finest, gentle sport, and the World Cup to India. Taking to Twitter, Subramanian Swamy on Sunday said, "M. S. Dhoni is retiring from Cricket but not from anything else. His talent-to be able to fight against odds and his inspiring leadership of a team that he has demonstrated in cricket is needed in public life. He should fight in LS General Elections in 2024."

By expressing his wish that Dhoni should come to the political ground, Swamy hadn't divulged further whether the Central ruling party is eyeing for Dhoni's political entry. His remarks had raised speculations that the BJP will likely approach him again for the second time to enter politics and to support Modi's camp in the upcoming elections.
Swamy's remarks had come after Dhoni's former teammate Gautam Gambhir winged a similar Tweet of bringing the World cup winning captain to the political ground. About an hour after Dhoni announced his retirement, Gambhir took to Twitter and wrote in a tendency of what it appeared to be a direct message.
The cricketer-turned-politician said, "From “India A” to “The India” our journey has been full of question marks, commas, blanks & exclamations. Now as you put a full stop to your chapter, I can tell u from experience that the new phase is as exciting and there’s no limit to DRS here!!! Well played @msdhoni".

Gambhir has quitted cricket and joined BJP and he has been serving as the MP from Delhi. The remarks of both the BJP leader, which had come within a day of Dhoni's announcement, had seemingly signaled that the party has been waiting for this prospect and to fish Dhoni into their ship with no further delay. According to the reports, the political talks have been surfaced around Dhoni for over a year now and it now may go next level after he bidded a farewell from what he loved.
The political enigma surfaced around the legendary cricketer would be expected to rise further as the assembly polls of his home state Jharkhand nears. In 2019, the BJP made a stint to induce him on the political ground in the Lok Sabha polls. However, Dhoni firmly refused and stood off from the political spotlight. The polls in his home state may take place later this year and the BJP's episode of reprising the stint soon after his announcement of retirement had stirred more speculations whether BJP is going to name him as the Chief Ministerial candidate in the assembly polls or to give him a Parliamentary ticket for 2024 elections.
