A day after the DMK leadership permanently dismissed him from the party and from all the responsibilities for indulging in 'anti-party' activities, MLA Ku Ka Selvam has, on Friday, said that several DMK leaders will leave the party soon.
Addressing the reports in Chennai on Friday, expelled DMK MLA Selvam blamed DMK's Youth wing secretary Udayanidhi Stalin for his current situation. He went on to say that the DMK party has gone into the control of Stalin's son Udayanidhi and he further shocked the leadership that several senior DMK leaders are in touch with him and they will exit the party one after another.
Ku Ka Selvam has been representing Thousand Lights constituency in Chennai in the current assembly and he told the reporters that he hasn't joined any party and will be functioning in the assembly as an independent member by not representing any party and added that he will take the decision of extending the support in the legislative assembly later and said he would contest in the next legislative elections from the Thousand Lights constituency from the party that gives him a ticket.
On Thursday, DMK President Stalin has expelled Selvam from the party, annulled his basic party membership, and relieved from all the party responsibilities after he met the BJP National leaders and took a stand of opposing the DMK. In his statement, Stalin said that Selvam has been violating the party regulations, bringing dishonor to the party, and for indulging in anti-party activities.
Earlier this month, he had shown his dissent against the party for not awarding him the post that he expected. It was speculated that he would be joining BJP and making the speculations true, he went to Delhi and met with BJP National President JP Nadda along with Tamil Nadu BJP leaders. However, he denied joining BJP but shown that he would be boarding the ship of the DMK's rival after he visited the BJP office in Tamil Nadu and met with state BJP leaders.
Initially, Selvam was temporarily suspended from the party and DMK had sought the explanation from him on why he shouldn't be dismissed from the party. He was permanently dismissed after the party found that his explanation was unsatisfactory.
Earlier, Selvam accused the DMK party of taking action without hearing his side and said that the Dravidian party has become a family party. He went on to say that the DMK's functionaries of more than 55 years of age don't have a future in the party and now, he vowed that several senior leaders will be leaving the party soon.
