An armored podium in Red fort had hosted Prime minister Narendra Modi for his sixth straight address to the nation on its 73rd Independence day in what it also had become the first national address to the nation after assuming power for second consecutive time with huge mandate.

Modi's speech, which lasted for 90 minutes was composed with the achievements that the BJP led NDA government had accomplished in its 2.0 edition, where he underlined the historical and important decisions his government had taken in its 70 days of tenure, some of which includes revoking the special status from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, putting an end to the practice of Triple talaq and uniting the country towards "one nation, one constitution".

Modi had also turned the pages of his governance from 2014 to 2019 where he proclaimed his first tenure had brought more hope in the place of disappointments and publicly called on the fellow citizens to keep their contribution eco-friendly initiatives from water conservation to ending the usage of plastic which will degrade our soil and environment.

From Red fort, he pictured his work on mapping Jammu and Kashmir with Indian constitution and said that his government had accomplished and taken important step towards achieving the dreams of India's first home minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel by revoking the special status from the state of Jammu and Kashmir within 70 days of his second tenure, which the previous governments had failed to accomplish in 70 years.

He proudly sounded the tone of his party's "One Mantra", where he cracked the armored glass by picturing the achievements his government had fulfilled since it came to power through which he listed out the successful introduction of "One nation, One tax", after his government had scripted GST bill and "One nation, One grid" slogan after attaining huge developments in energy sector and "One nation, One constitution" after revoking the special status from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, where by suspending the articles, India had proclaimed that it had united Kashmir with Indian constitution.

He turned the pages of his second edition, he reiterated the government's decision on barricading the practice of Triple Talaq which was in existence among the Muslim community where by criminalizing the act of instant divorce system, the government had rescued Muslim women who are living under fear and uncertainty and he further stated some of the Islamic countries which had suspended this practice. He also raised his concerns over having huge population explosion where he stated that rise in population index would flag greater challenges for current and future generations and had urged the citizens to be responsible in contributing in country's welfare by keeping their family small.

Through his speech, he had also weakened the claims and expressions on the country's economic slowdown where he echoed the government's resolution of making India as a $5 trillion economy in five years by enhancing and investing in various initiatives and infrastructures.

He took his independence day address to official announce to the people of the nation on its defense reform and oblivion where he proclaimed that the nation will soon have a Chief of Defense staff to unleash and focus on significant and effective leadership aimed to enhance and strengthen the grounds of coordination and inclusive efforts on the capabilities, strategies and execution of trio.

Meanwhile, former Union minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram had accused the move of government on detaining the political leaders in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
