Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has on Wednesday sent a strong indicator across the nation on his efforts to form a coalition of social justice to take on the Central ruling BJP. A week after his announcement to build a national forum for social justice, he has strengthened his reiteration on the need to build such a forum to take on what he alleged as repressive forces.
On Wednesday, MK Stalin has written to 37 leaders and invited them to nominate their partymen as representatives for the forum. His letter was addressed to several national and regional leaders and the Chief Minister has highlighted the threat posed by religious hegemony and called upon the leaders to unite for social justice. In what has been seen as his next step, MK Stalin's letter has come when the country is inching closer to the crucial assembly polls in five states.
According to reports, MK Stalin has written to Sonia Gandhi, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Farook Abdullah, Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Pawar, D Raja, Sitaram Yechury, Chandrababu Naidu, Arvind Kejriwal, Chandrasekhar Rao, Memboobha Mufti, Udhav Thackeray, and Akhilesh Yadav. Besides inviting these leaders, Stalin's letter has also reached the hands of ADMK's Coordinator O Panneerselvam, PMK founder S Ramadoss, and DMK's allied leaders Thol Thirumavalavan, Vaiko, and MH Jawahirullah.
In his letter, Stalin has penned, "At this crucial time where repressive forces are challenging the progress made in the social justice front over decades, it is vital that all the progressive forces join hands to protect the interests of the oppressed." Earlier on Republic Day, MK Stalin has announced forming the All India Federation for Social Justice which would bring leaders, members of civil society, and individuals to a common platform to achieve the principles of federalism and social justice at the national level.
