MK Stalin's cabinet list is out...Here's the full list of ministers and their portfolios!

Exactly a day ahead of MK Stalin's swearing-in as the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Raj Bhavan has on Thursday unveiled the list of cabinet ministers of the new government who will be taking the oath of office and secrecy on Friday along with the Chief Minister-elect. The Governor's secretary has released the list amid the large-scale speculations over who will win the cabinet berth in Stalin's first government. 

In the release, the Secretary has said, "Thiru MK Stalin, the Chief Minister-designate has sent a list of persons to be appointed as Ministers of the State of Tamil Nadu along with their portfolios today on 6.5.2021. The Hon'ble Governor of Tamil Nadu has approved the recommendations made by the Chief Minister-designate regarding persons to be appointed as Ministers." The following is the full list of the ministers and their portfolios, 

  • MK Stalin - Chief Minister (Public, General Administration, Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Other All India Service, District Revenue Officers, Police, Home, Special Initiatives, Special Programme Implementation, Welfare of Differently abled persons).
  • Duraimurugan - Minister for Water Resources (Irrigation Projects including small Irrigation, Legislative Assembly, Governor and Ministry, Elections and Passports, Minerals and Mines).
  • KN Nehru - Minister for Municipal Administration (Municipal Administration, Urban and Water Supply).
  • I Periyasamy - Minister for Co-operation (Co-operation, Statistics, and Ex-Servicemen Welfare).
  • K Ponmudi - Minister for Higher Education (Higher Education including Technical Education, Electronics, Science and Technology). 
  • EV Velu - Minister for Public Works (Public Works (Buildings, Highways and Minor Ports). 
  • MRK Panneerselvam - Minister for Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare (Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agro Service Co-operatives, Horticulture, Sugarcane Excise, Sugarcane Development, and Waste Land Development).

  • SS Sivasankar - Minister for Backward Classes Welfare (Backward Classes Welfare, Most Backward Classes Welfare and Denotified Communities Welfare).
  • PK Sekarbabu - Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments). 
  • Palanivel Thiagarajan - Minister for Finance and Human Resources Management (Finance, Planning, Personnel, and Administrative Reforms, Pensions and Pension allowances.)
  • SM Nasar - Minister for Milk and Dairy Development (Milk and Dairy Development).
  • Gingee KS Masthan - Minister for Minorities Welfare and Non-Resident Tamils Welfare (Minorities Welfare, Non-Resident Tamils Welfare, Refugees & Evacuees and Wakf Board). 
  • Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi - Minister for School Education (School Education). 
  • Siva V Meyyanathan - Minister for Environment - Climate Change and Youth Welfare and Sports Development (Environment and Pollution Control, Youth Welfare and Sports Development). 
  • CV Ganesan - Minister for Labour Welfare and Skill Development (Labour Welfare, Population, Employment and Training, Census, Urban and Rural Employment).
  • T Mano Thangaraj - Minister for Information Technology (Information Technology).
  • M Mathiventhan - Minister for Tourism (Tourism and Tourism Development Corporation). 
  • N Kayalvizhi Selvaraj - Minister for Adi Dravidar Welfare (Adi Dravidar Welfare, Hill Tribes, and Bonded Labour Welfare). 

MK Stalin's first cabinet has 34 ministers including two women and a handful of new faces and the Chief Minister-elect has also reserved berth for some of the bigheads of the party in his cabinet. While it was speculated that Udhayanidhi Stalin will win a ticket in his father's cabinet, he was not inducted while his close aide Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi has been tasked to lead the school education department. 

MK Stalin will be swearing-in as the Chief Minister on Friday in the ceremony that will be hosted by Raj Bhavan from 9 am to 10 am and Governor Banwarilal Purohit will be administering the oath of office and secrecy to Stalin and the rest of the cabinet ministers. While the list has revealed the ministers, it is yet to know who will be appointed in the state's bureaucracy which will be leading the government mechanism.
