In what will become a crucial one-on-one meet, MK Stalin is all set for his first tour outside Tamil Nadu and to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time since becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Stalin will be carrying a slew of demands from the state to the national capital and he will be meeting high-profile leaders during his Delhi visit.
According to reports, MK Stalin will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 17 in New Delhi. The Chief Minister is leaving for New Delhi on June 16 and he will be returning to Chennai on June 17.
During the meeting, Stalin will be submitting a demand of the state government to the Prime Minister including outstanding GST dues, Central share of taxes, scrapping NEET, and pending allocation for various development schemes.
Stalin will also be demanding the Prime Minister for a timely dispatch of the COVID-19 vaccines to the state as part of the new and centralized vaccination policy. Stalin has sworn in as the Chief Minister on May 7 and during the past one month, he has written several letters to the Prime Minister on pivotal issues including demanding oxygen cylinders and cancelling national entrance exams in light of the pandemic.
The Chief Minister will also be demanding the Prime Minister to provide medicines for the Black Fungus Infection. He will further be pressing the Union government to take immediate steps to establish AIIMS Hospital in Madurai. The reports say that he will likely be visiting the DMK's party's office in Delhi and it has been expected that Stalin will be meeting President Ram Nath Kovind, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
