In what would become his outreach to the people in letting them know about the schemes and achievements of his government, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has made a big plan to have regular direct engagements with the people. On Friday, he said that he will meet the people once in three months with a list of achievements to let them know the progress that the government has made.
He had released a video message on social media on Friday and revealed that his government has delivered 202 out of the 505 promises in DMK's election manifesto. As his government is going to complete the fifth month, he has put out his plan of enhancing the engagement with the people through his outreach. In a video message, MK Stalin said, "I will meet you once in three months with a list of achievements to let you know of the progress that the government has made."
By listing out some of the key poll promises delivered by his government, MK Stalin has said that this is how his government is performing and will continue the same scale of performance every single day. He had reiterated late DMK President M Karunanidhi's popular statement and said, "We say what we do and we do what we say." Besides speaking about some of the delivered poll promises, MK Stalin had touched upon the schemes, that weren't part of the party's election manifesto, that were implemented by his five months old government.
He highlighted his recent order of providing free education in engineering courses for the government school students who got admitted to the universities under 7.5% reservation. He also had emphasised his government's battle against the NEET and said that the loans to the tune of Rs 2,756 crore to women self-help groups through cooperative credit societies were waived. Furthermore, the state government had also waived off jewel loans that were given through agriculture cooperative credit societies.
He also said that his government has reduced the price of petrol and presented a separate budget for agriculture and added that his government has also released Rs 317 crore welfare package for Lankan Tamil refugees to improve their living conditions. His announcement of outreach has come when the rural local body polls for nine districts are two weeks away. These nine districts were newly demarcated during the previous ADMK regime and as the first polls, since DMK came to power, Stalin aims to have a big sweep in votes to display that his government has overwhelming support among the people.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, MK Stalin's passion for pedals has been going viral across and beyond the borders. The Chief Minister had gone for his usual cycling trip to the ECR on the morning hours of Saturday and interacted with the people on his route and several people had surrounded him and took pictures. The video clips of Stalin's ride on ECR had gone rampant and doing rounds on social media as his physical activities have also become his campaign for good health.
