After a hiatus of seven years since the release of his previous film, Premam, Malayalam filmmaker Alphonse Puthren is once again in the public eye after the release of his most recent film, Gold. The renowned filmmaker is utterly blessed because he recently had the opportunity to meet his passionate source of inspiration "for the very first time" in his life.
Before making his debut in a feature film with Neram, Alphonse got his start in the film industry by directing several short films, including Arkan, Sutrum Vizhi, Cling Cling, and Angel. His most recent film, Gold, which starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and was released on December 1st, 2022, was met with a lukewarm critical reception. Now that the latter couldn't stop reminiscing about the recent encounter he had with the Ulaganayagan.
Taking to Twitter, Alphonse shared a photo with Kamal Hassan, where he wrote, "Met the Mount Everest of Cinema Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan for the first time in my life." The director says he reportedly get ideas for 5-6 small plots in a short span of time he spent with the veteran actor.
He further added, "For him as a Master it was his experiences he shared… but as a student I was scared whether I would miss out any of the content he told. Thank you Universe for this and thank you Mr.Mahendiran & Mr. Disney from @RKFI for this Unbelievable & Surreal and Beautiful experience."
Fans also joined the joy with the director by saying, "Many Congratulations...Brother #நம்மவர் உலகநாயகன் கமல்ஹாசன்", where another wrote, "That's awesome congratulations brother I can feel the joy of happiness u would have felt while interacting with d legend @ikamalhaasan. Sure u will cherish this moment for life" and "Looking forward to hear so many meetings with Aandavar, very happy for you Sir! All the best for your future movies. You are G.O.L.D!" penend another. Kamal Hassan is currently working on Shankar's Indian 2 and reports says that he quits the Bigg Boss TV show.
