Meera Mithun gets bail...But she can't walk free: Here's how trouble is chasing her!

Controversial actress Meera Mithun is being chased by trouble as though she was awarded bail on Thursday in one of the cases, she will be behind the bars as she has been facing another big case where she was booked under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Meera Mithun has risen to popularity through participating in the Bigg Boss Tamil season and she frequently gets caught up with outrage over her remarks and actions. Recently, she was arrested by the Chennai Police for making derogatory remarks against the people of scheduled caste.

In a video that she published on social media, Meera Mithun went on to speak against the SC/ST caste and said that the artists in the Tamil film industry who are from the scheduled caste must also be removed from the industry. Her remarks had stirred outrage across the state with several demanded to take action against her. VCK leader Vanniarasu had moved his complaint against Meera Mithun urging the police to book her under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.

Based on the complaint, the Central Crime Branch of the Chennai Police had registered a case against Meera Mithun under seven sections, including inciting the communal riots between two groups, and under SC/ST Act. However, Meera Mithun had absconded and was living in a haven and she had dared the police officials to arrest her. She had released videos on social media against the police and the officials had intensified the search to nab her and after incessant search, the police had finally arrested her from Alapuzha, Kerala, on August 14. She was residing in a hotel in the neighbouring state and the police had made arrangements to bring her to Chennai.

The police had brought Meera Mithun to Chennai on August 15 and the police had accused her of not cooperating with the investigation. They had produced Meera Mithun before a judge and taken her under judicial custody till August 27 and she was lodged in the Puzhal prison. Days after her arrest, the police had also arrested Meera Mithun's friend Abhishek Shyam, who was seen with her in a video in which she made derogatory remarks.

After being imprisoned, Meera Mithun had moved her petition to a Chennai Court seeking bail. In her petition, she claimed that she had made the remarks under depression and she realized what she had done was wrong. She further said that she had given call sheets for several movies and requested bail for her. However, the court had dismissed her bail plea as the case was booked under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act for a serious offence. Amid such developments, the Chennai Police had booked a new case against Meera Mithun based on a complaint from Joe Michael Praveen.

In his complaint, Praveen said that Meera Mithun had made several defamatory remarks against him and demanded action against her. The reports say that based on this complaint, the police had on Wednesday booked a fresh case against Meera Mithun under five sections including for making death threats and airing obscene remarks. After filing a case, the police had arrested her for the second time and on Thursday, the police had produced Meera Mithun before Chennai Egmore court for taking her under custody in connection with the case registered as per the complaint from Praveen.

The police had sought the directive from the court to take Meera Mithun under judicial custody for two days for investigating her in the case. However, after the hearing, the Egmore court has granted bail for Meera Mithun in the case filed by Praveen. Though bail is awarded to her, Meera Mithun is in a state that she can't be released from the prison as she has been taken under custody till August 27 under SC/ST Act for making derogatory remarks against the backward caste people. While she has got relief from one case, she is being chased by trouble in another case
