In what would become a massive New Year opening for one of the successful Kollywood stars Dhanush, the actor is all set for his second leg of Hollywood journey as he has joined the crew of a new movie directed by one of the most reputable directors in the globe. Adding yet another pride in their banks, the ardent fans of the actor have been relishing and sharing the news across social media.
Dhanush has joined the impressive and dramatic crew of 'The Gray Man', which is directed by the Russo brothers - Anthony and Joe Russo who rose to global fame through the series of 'The Avengers' and 'Captain America'. Dhanush is the only Indian star on the cast so far and he will be joining Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, Julia Butters, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, and Wagner Moura.
The Gray Man is based on American novelist Mark Greaney's debut novel that was released on the same name in 2009. The Gray Man will be adapted and released by Netflix as its original film and according to reports, the shooting has been expected to commence early next year and the budget of this movie has been estimated to be $200 million and it has been expected that the movie would hit the screens in the mid or at the end of next year.
The reports say that the film will be based on a freelance assassin and former CIA operative who goes on a rescue mission across Europe. In 2016, there were plans to turn this novel into a film directed by Christopher McQuarrie. The poster of 'The Gray Man' has been released in which Dhanush can be seen standing next to 'Captain America' Chris Evans.
Netflix took to Twitter on Thursday and confirmed the news of Dhanush joining the crew. In its message, Netflix said, "THE GRAY MAN cast just got even better. Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Dhanush, and Julia Butters will join Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas in the upcoming action thriller from directors Anthony and Joe Russo". Last week, Netflix took to Twitter and said, "Ryan Gosling x Chris Evans x Ana de Armas = THE GRAY MAN A new film from directors Anthony & Joe Russo, the upcoming action thriller is based on the debut novel by Mark Greaney."
'The Gray Man' is the second Hollywood movie of the 'Asuran' actor as he had already made his debut by playing a lead role in the film 'The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir', which was released in 2018. Dhanush was last seen in the Tamil action-comedy 'Pattas' and he has been awaiting the release of two movies - Karthik Subbaraj's directorial 'Jagame Thandhiram' and Mari Selvaraj's directorial 'Karnan'. Dhanush had joined hands with these two directors for the first time.
Besides Tamil movies, Dhanush also has the Hindi film 'Atrangi Re' starred by Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan and directed by Aanand L Rai. The actor also has a project each with director Ramkumar of 'Ratsasan' and director Karthik Naren of 'Dhuruvangal Padhinaaru'. Last year, Dhanush had acted in 'Asuran' and the movie was a blockbuster hit and he was globally spoken for delivering splendid acting and the movie has got massive reception from across and beyond the borders.
