He claims that he got an idea of making the gold mask after spotting a video on the social media in which a man was wearing a silver mask. Following his idea, Kurade talked to a goldsmith and after a week, he has got his five and a half pound gold mask.

The mask made up of gold could be new for social media users and people who are unknown to Kurade. For people who know him, this gold mask is one of the ornaments that he has as Shankar Kurade is fond of gold ornaments and he can be spotted with gold rings in his five fingers, gold bracelets on his wrist, and huge gold chains around his neck.

He stated that his family members love gold and they will get such gold masks if they ask for. Although he has got a gold mask of Rs 3 lakh to keep his love for gold, it has combinedly erupted laughter and question on the need of procuring such a mask to keep the love on gold. But for Shankar Kurade, he seems to be in ecstasy on gold as he himself has divulged that he is not sure whether this golden mask will be effective against COVID-19.
