The wait is over for the moviebuffs, who are eagerly looking forward to the fresh and unique premise of Vishal's upcoming film Mark Antony. The film, which is directed by Adhik Ravichandran, is a sci-fi thriller that revolves around time travel and revenge. Now its been announced that the film will release on July 28, coinciding with the birthday of actor Dhanush.
Mark Antony features Vishal and SJ Suryah in dual roles, as they play the titular characters of Mark and Antony. The film’s teaser, which was launched by Vijay on April 27, revealed that the film involves time travel through a landline phone and the consequences of altering the past. The teaser also showed the actors in different get-ups, ranging from retro to modern, and hinted at some high-octane action sequences.
The film has Ritu Varma as the female lead, and also stars Selvaraghavan, Abhinaya, Sunil, and Y Gee Mahendra in supporting roles. The music is composed by GV Prakash, while the cinematography is handled by Abinandhan Ramanujam. The film’s stunts are choreographed by Kanal Kannan, Peter Hein, and Ravi Varma.
Mark Antony is inspired by the popular character of Raghuvaran in Baashha, who was also named Mark Antony. The film marks the first collaboration of Vishal and SJ Suryah, who have both proved their mettle as actors and directors. SJ Suryah recently revealed that he agreed to act in the film after being impressed by Adhik Ravichandran’s script and Vishal’s passion for cinema.
Mark Antony will be Vishal’s first release in 2023, after his last release Lathi in 2022. The actor is also gearing up to make his directorial debut with Thupparivalan 2, which is a sequel to his detective thriller Thupparivalan. SJ Suryah, on the other hand to be seen in Game Changer, where he last seen in Vadhandhi web series in Prime Video.
