In a shocking piece of news, the district of Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu ran into a furore on Friday after a man had slit the throat of a woman police officer in an apparent attempt to take revenge on her. While the culprit has been arrested, the injured police officer has been getting treated at a hospital. Chief Minister MK Stalin has called the cop and consoled her.

According to our sources, Margaret Theresa has been serving as the police sub-inspector in Suthamalli, Tirunelveli. Last month, she had imposed a fine on a person named Arumugam for riding the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. On Friday- April 22, Theresa was stationed along with her team in the local temple for security purposes as it has organized an event.

Arumugam has come to the temple event on Friday and he saw Theresa in the duty. After seeing her, Arumugam had argued with her for imposing a fine on him last month. He had later taken a knife and slit Theresa's throat and she had sustained a severe injury. After the incident, the fellow police officers had detained Arumugam and taken him under custody.
