Fresh from the monumental success of 'Jailer,' the legendary actor Rajinikanth has penned a heartfelt appreciation note in Tamil for the recently released 'Jigarthanda Double X,' declaring it a cinematic marvel in Tamil cinema history.

The 76-year-old thespian took to X and expressed his admiration for the film's director, Karthik Subbaraj, praising the unique storyline and plot, and highlighting scenes that push the boundaries of cinematic imagination. In his note, Rajinikanth commended the lead actors, especially SJ Surya, whom he dubbed the "go-to actor of today" for seamlessly blending villainy, comedy, and character.

He marveled at Raghava Lawrence's performance, expressing awe at the actor's versatility showcased in the film. The megastar extended his special compliments to the producer for crafting a grand cinematic experience. Rajinikanth lauded the portrayal of tribes in the film, emphasizing that they weren't acting but living their roles. He even acknowledged the elephants in the film, stating that they competed with the actors in their performances.

Speaking of Karthik Subbaraj's directorial prowess, Rajinikanth declared, "Karthik Subbaraj makes people clap in this film. He is amazing. Makes you think. Makes you cry. I am proud of Karthik Subbaraj. My warmest wishes."

The actor also showered praise on the technical aspects of the film, acknowledging the exceptional camera work, artistry, fight sequences choreographed by Dileep Subbarayan, and Santhosh Narayanan's mastery in creating diverse music for different films.

It’s worth noting that Karthik Subbaraj, well-known for his admiration for Superstar Rajinikanth, has  unveiled the inspiration behind his upcoming film, Jigarthanda Double X before the release. He shared, "The element of 'Tamil Cinema Vin Muthal Karuppu hero' in Jigarthanda Double X is inspired by Superstar Rajinikanth. The choice of 1975 as the backdrop was influenced by Superstar's debut film, Apoorva Raagangal. This factor played a significant role in shaping the screenplay and holds a pivotal position in the story."

'Jigarthanda Double X' pays homage to its predecessor, the 2014 hit 'Jigarthanda.' The film follows the journey of Pandiyan, played by Raghava Lawrence, an ambitious gangster in Madurai aspiring to become the first dark-skinned actor in Tamil cinema. The storyline introduces a cascade of challenges as Pandiyan enlists the help of SJ Suryah's character, Ray Dasan, in pursuing this unconventional dream.

The film, released on November 10th, 2023, has achieved blockbuster status, crossing the Rs 20 crore mark in global earnings. Helmed by Karthik Subbaraj, 'Jigarthanda Double X' features a stellar cast, including Raghava Lawrence, SJ Suryah, Nimisha Sajayan, Naveen Chandra, Sathyan, Aravind Akash, Ilavarasu, and Bava Chelladurai, all of whom have been acclaimed for their compelling performances.
