In what would become yet another episode of shock for ADMK's leadership unit, former ADMK MP is all set to join the DMK and he has expressed his willingness to meet DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to officially join the ruling party. It is expected that Former ADMK MP K Parasuraman would switch to the ruling party anytime along with his supporters.
Parasuraman, who served as the ADMK MP in Lok Sabha after getting elected in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls from the Thanjavur constituency, has developed dissent against ADMK's senior leader Vaithilingam. Parasuraman was a close associate of Vaithilingam as they were a native of Orathanadu, Thanjavur and their relationship has been stumbling after the former had dissented against Vaithilingam.
Parasuraman is currently serving as the Thanjavur South MGR Mandram Secretary and he has been getting sidelined in the party. Parasuraman had begun to stay off from Vaithilingam after he got sidelined and the former Lok Sabha MP had also expressed his outrage not for inviting to the party activities. After being sidelined, Parasuraman had apparently praised Chief Minister MK Stalin recently and his video of praising the Chief Minister has gone viral in the state, stirring the predictions that he is mulling to join the rival.
According to reports, Parasuraman had on Thursday met DMK Thanjavur district secretary and Tiruvaiyaru MLA Durai Chandrasekaran and reportedly expressed his willingness to switch over to DMK in the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin. The former ADMK MP has also met former DMK MLA Ramachandran and sought to get him an appointment to meet the Chief Minister.
Following his meeting, both Chandrasekaran and Ramachandran had told the former ADMK MP that they would get in touch with the party headquarters and inform him about the appointment. The reports say that Parasuraman had met Chandrasekaran in Kalaignar Arivalayam in Thanjavur in his bid to acquire an appointment with the Chief Minister by asserting that he will bring over 3,000 supporters from ADMK to DMK.
Parasuraman was a close aide of Vaithilingam and the former has got the party's ticket to contest in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls in the clout of the latter. Parasuraman has gained attention from the ADMK party after winning the Lok Sabha elections from Thanjavur by defeating senior DMK leader TR Baalu. Parasuraman's relationship with Vaithilingam has gone to a fashion with the reports stating that Parasuraman had served as a Benami for Vaithilingam.
In recent years, Parasuraman has developed dissent against Vaithilingam and while the former has expected ADMK's ticket in the 2021 state assembly polls, he was denied a ticket by Vaithilingam in the polls. Expressing anger over denial of the ticket in the polls, Parasuraman has stayed off from campaigning for the ADMK candidate in Thanjavur. Three months after the assembly polls, Parasuraman, after being sidelined, has now decided to join the DMK in the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin.
