Mahi and other 'Men in Yellow' took off with a smile for UAE ahead of IPL 2020!

With just less than a month away for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, the teams have been departing for the United Arab Emirates, which will be hosting the current edition of the IPL. As some of the teams had already left for the Arab nation, the players of Chennai Super Kings had, on Friday, embarked their plane and departed their home, with the hope to return with the trophy.

As the Dhoni and Co arrived at the Chennai airport, all eyes were on Dhoni and his trusted commander Raina as the legendary duo had recently announced their retirement from the International Cricket, one after the other. The official Twitter handle of the Chennai Super Kings shared the pictures of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ravi Jadeja, and L Balaji ahead of the departure.

The Men in Yellow had left a hearty smile before bidding a farewell to their home and fans for a two-month-long tour. In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak and restrictions, this year's IPL would be going out of India and will be hosted by the UAE in its three venues - Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi from September 19th to November 10th, 2020. The current season is the 13th edition of the IPL and its the first time that the foreign country will be hosting India's league for its entire schedule.

While the top players of Chennai Super Kings had left for UAE on Friday, Harbhajan Singh, according to the PTI, hasn't joined the team on Friday due to personal reasons and the spinner is expected to join the squad in the Arab nation in two weeks. Chennai Super Kings will be opening the tournament by taking on the Mumbai Indians on September 19th.

Chennai Super Kings had a week-long training camp at the Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai ahead of departing to the UAE. IPL 2020 will be having a total of sixty games scheduled to be played over a period of 53 days. As the COVID-19 viral infection has become a global outbreak, the players are strictly advised to adhere to the protocols and guidelines as the COVID-19 cases have been soaring in the UAE.

According to the IANS, a BCCI official said that the cricket board has given strict instructions to all the players, owners, coaching staff, and other members as the board said it doesn't want others to get infected because of someone's mistake. The players will go through a bio-security bubble after landing to ensure their safety and the players and support staff will be tested once in five days of the tournament as a preventive measure.

Earlier, the players of Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Kings XI Punjab had left for the UAE for one of the wealthiest cricketing leagues.
