Madras High court toasted the government on its row of inertia!

As it has been a fortnight since Chennai based techie Subhasree passed away due to illegal erection of banners, the Madras High court had toasted the police authorities on their row of failures and inertia towards detaining the accused who had erected the banners in what it appears that the state's top judicial ground has been turning tough against the state government and the authorities for their deafening face in implementing its previous directives on banning the banners.

In hearing the case, the Madras High court had issued fresh directives to the police department to detain the main suspect Jaya Gopal who had put up the illegal banners and ordered the cops to file a report of conformity by October 23rd, 2019. In the middle of hearing the case, the High court bench comprises of Justices Sathyanarayan and Seshasayee had accused the concerned authorities for executing everything else apart from removing the erected banners.

The state opposition party DMK had demanded the judicial bench to issue the orders towards directing the case under the investigations of CB-CID and when the case was taken into hearing on Wednesday, the DMK's counsel had legally filed the affidavit to the high court bench on its clear stand against illegal banners and blamed the inaction of the police authorities for not arresting the main accused in the case and justified the party's claim for urging the court to transfer the case under the hands of the crime branch for further investigations.

After the arguments, the court had instructed the state's attorney general to abide the new judicial directives for which the attorney general had indicated that the Chennai corporation had already released exgratia of Rs 5 lakhs for the bereaved family with accordance to the earlier orders of the court and further stated that the disciplinary actions have been taken against the division engineer and the executive engineer of the concerned area under the grounds of misconduct and negligence.
