Diwali is just a month away and the cinema fans are getting ready for celebrating the festival of lights in style with the expectation of a perfect treat from their favourite stars. The grand occasion amid the Covid-19 pandemic would be witnessing a clash between Superstar Rajinikanth and Simbu. The fans of both the actors are planning to give a big reception for the movies if the pandemic doesn't bother them. While Rajini's 'Annaatthe' has been slated for the release on Diwali, Simbu's 'Maanaadu' is also joining the race.
According to reports, both the movies are going to hit the screens on November 4 and the Maanaadu movie team had unveiled the trailer last Saturday. The trailer looks promising with the ingredients of brand new Simbu, an ensemble cast, and a different storyline. Touted to be a political action thriller, Maanaadu is bankrolled by Suresh Kamatchi under his own banner V House Productions and it is directed by Venkat Prabhu.
While Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music, Richard M Nathan and KL Praveen had done cinematography and editing respectively. While Simbu plays the lead role, SJ Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, Vaagai Chandrasekar, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Udhaya, and Manoj Bharathiraja play important roles. A month ahead of the release, the Maanaadu team had unveiled the movie trailer in which SJ Suryah can be seen playing a police officer and SA Chandrasekhar as a politician.
The trailer was released last Saturday and it has garnered massive reception across and beyond the borders. In what has become a remarkable welcome to the movie, Maanaadu has set a WOW milestone and has become a very special movie to Simbu and the fans. By the time of writing this content, the Maanaadu trailer had got over one crore views and counting. It has been reported that this is the first time that the trailer of a Simbu movie has crossed one crore views.
The trailer and the milestone have been going viral as the fans await a thrilling Diwali from their favourite actor. On the other hand, Rajini's 'Annaatthe' is also ready for release. Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, Annaatthe is directed by Siva and while Rajini plays the lead role, Meena, Khushbu, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Jackie Shroff, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Soori, and Sathish play crucial roles and D Imman has composed the music.
