'Let's cooperate to contain the virus' - Rajini lauds TN gov over the measures!

Amid the Coronavirus outbreak, Actor and political hopeful Rajinikanth took to Twitter and lauded the Tamil Nadu government for its precautions and preventive measures to contain and combat the virus, which has now become the global pandemic by claiming thousands of lives across the world making India unexceptional.

In his statement, Rajinikanth stated that the precautions and preventive measures taken by the government to contain the spread of the virus must be appreciated. He called the people to be more cooperative to the government towards getting prevented from the deadliest epidemic. He also appealed to the government to provide financial assistance to the people who have been affected and the grant from the government would largely help the affected people at this critical time.

 

 

Rajinikanth's tweet has come at a high time when the state of Tamil Nadu has been under severe lockdown to contain the spread. The state government has ordered to shut down the schools, colleges, universities, parks, malls, theaters, bars, and private establishments across the state to avoid mass people gatherings. The state has been putting up the mechanisms to tackle the pandemic as the government has installed four isolation centers in its territory to quarantine the people who develop the symptoms positive to the virus. 

On Wednesday, Chennai has reported with the second positive case for the global pandemic. According to the state health department, the patient was identified as a 20-year-old and he has a travel history to Delhi. The department stated that he has been quarantined and kept under observation in Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) in Chennai. He is doing stable and he will be discharged after the two consecutive samples return negative.

According to the health department, Tamil Nadu has screened 1,89,750 people so far at the Chennai, Trichy, Coimbatore, and Madurai airports and 2984 passengers are under home quarantine currently for 28 days and 32 are under hospital isolation. As on Thursday noon, India has reported 168 positive cases for the virus. The state of Maharashtra has more cases (45) in India followed by Kerala (27), Haryana (17), Uttar Pradesh (17), Karnataka (14), Jammu and Kashmir (12), Rajasthan (7), Telangana (6), and Tamil Nadu (2) while the states like Odisha, West Bengal, Punjab, Uttarkhand, Andhra Pradesh had reported with one case each in its respective territories. The country has recorded three deaths so far.
