The hashtag #JusticeForJeyarajandFenix on social media has become a national tone amid the Coronavirus outbreak as people from all walks of life have been stressing the importance of justice for the father and son duo, who died one after the other in the police custody, which triggered massive protests across the state. While High court has taken the matter in its own motion, the state had seen some of the important national voices on Friday, demanding justice for the victims.

On Friday, Congress leader and former party's president Rahul Gandhi has gone tough against what has happened to the father and son. Taking to Twitter, the Congress leader said "Police brutality is a terrible crime. It’s a tragedy when our protectors turn into oppressors. I offer my condolences to the family of the victims and appeal to the government to ensure #JusticeForJeyarajAndFenix".

Following Rahul Gandhi, Indian Cricketers Shikhar Dhawan and Harbhajan Singh had demanded justice. In his Twitter message, Harbhajan Singh has said "The father and son had died without knowing why they had died. It's very tough to get through this. It's not humane to get through this without justice. Where's humanity?" the spinner tweeted. Shikhar Dhawan said "We must raise our voice and make sure justice is given to the family. #JusticeForJeyarajAndFenix".

Along with the reputed sport stars, the celebrities of the Indian Cinema had stood in one line and echoed its notions and importance for justice. Some of them include Actors Raghava Lawrence, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rajesh, Santhanu, Vishal, Jiiva, Malavika Mohanan, Nivedha Thomas, Khushbu Sundar, Hansika Motwani, Radio Jockey Suchitra, notable names Imman, Karthick Subbaraj, and Pa.Ranjith had expressed their demands for justice by using the hashtag #JusticeForJeyarajAndFenix.

Some of the voices had compared the police brutality behind the death of Jayaraj and Fenix to what the United States witnessed through the death of George Floyd, who was suppressed and killed by the police officer. The Tamil Nadu government has suspended the responsible police officers and offered compensation for the family of the victims. However, the voices grow much stronger and urged the government to detain the police officers under the appropriate grounds.
