Kimye is now going into history as what started as a sumptuous beginning has now neared a souring end. Popular global star Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from her husband Kanye West...You read that right! One of the globally celebrated and followed couples is now breaking the bond between each other and bringing Kimye (Kim +Kanye) to an end. Millions of their fans and followers had expressed their shock to learn Kim's decision to annul their marriage. 

According to reports close to the developments, a court clerk for Los Angeles Superior Court said on Friday that Kim Kardashian West has filed for divorce from Kanye West. Christy Welder, a representative for Kardashian had confirmed the divorce filing in her filing, Kardashian had cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for divorce and she also had sought joint custody of the couple's four children.

Kim and Kanye had got married in Italy in 2014 in a lavish wedding ceremony and they are parents of four - two sons and two daughters. They have one of the most celebrated and opulent couples on the globe. It has been reported that they had developed spat and have been living apart for some time. The drift had grown and they have seen together only for the sake of the kids but have been living separately. 

Kardashian was staying in California with the kids while Kanye West has reportedly been living at their home in Wyoming. According to CNN, both had high-profile relationships before they went public with their love in 2012. In an awe-struck fashion, West had lavishly proposed to Kardashian by renting out a baseball stadium and hiring an orchestra. West had gifted a ring to Kardashian and proposed to her amid the presence of Kardashian's family. The proposal was documented and shared on the family's popular reality series "Keeping up With the Kardashians". 

They got married in 2012 in Tuscany, Italy in a sumptuous ceremony and the couple had four children together- daughter North West (born in 2013), followed by a son Saint West in 2015, daughter Chicago West in 2018, and son Psalm West in 2019. During the past six years, Kimye had been regarded as a couple who strongly supported each other through tough times. Kim had come in defense of her husband Kanye West when the latter had stirred controversy with his provocative tweets and political views. 

Kim stood with Kanye when he had said about his struggles with bipolar disorder. But in recent times, they had given space for differences and disputes between them and they brewed further which had prompted Kim to file divorce from Kanye by citing "irreconcilable differences". According to reports, Kim had filed divorce weeks after the US media reported that the couple were living separately and going through counseling to deal with the relationship issues. 

40-year-old Kardashian has sought joint custody for the kids from West, who is three years elder than her. In July last year, Kanye West had launched a bid for the US Presidency and he hit the campaign trails during which he revealed that he wanted to abort his daughter. He also posted a series of tweets accusing his wife Kardashian and his mother-in-law of trying to lock him up and said he had been trying to file a divorce from Kardashian for months. However, he later deleted the tweets. 

Kardashian had called on the media and public to show compassion and empathy following her husband's erratic behavior. According to reports, the couple is yet to make any official statement about the divorce and it is yet to be clear about the date when the couple will be separated. They both had built a fortune of wealth and they made money through music, TV series, and endorsements of fashion products and cosmetics. According to Forbes, the couple has a combined net worth of $2.1 billion.
