Keezhadi - The hectares of nectar that unearth precious discoveries!

It certainly has been one of the important and precious archaeological eras as the excavation of Keezhadi in Tamil Nadu's Sivaganga district has been unearthing and exhuming precious and priceless findings and discoveries of artifacts since its first phase and through exposing the history of ancient Tamil civilization, it had now completed its fifth phase of excavation that had dredged up about 900 artifacts which were resting underground for more than 2,500 years.

Since the excavation has been camped in 2014, the grounds of Keezhadi has been on the spotlight in archaeological world that later on had rewritten the chapters of history by revealing about the age of Tamil civilization which lived in the banks of Vaigai river in Madurai. In its fourth phase of excavation, Keezhadi had uncovered the discoveries that had pictured the unknown fact that Tamil civilization had possible connection with Indus Valley civilization which had revealed that the history of Tamil civilization runs back to much more years than what has been recorded currently.

The findings had undoubtedly taken the archaeologists at least 2,500 years back where the fourth phase of excavation had unearthed the truth that the people lived during that period had attained literacy and practiced art of writing and as justification, the excavation had founded the ancient script used by the people and the research had speculated that the script was much similar to what was used in Indus civilization which had further exposed that the language used by the people of Indus valley civilization could be Dravidian.

Through its excavation, Keezhadi had presented the current generation by changing and rewriting the history from what the world knows currently through which it has been on the archaeological light and adding to that, most of the people across the state had toured the excavation sites in Keezhadi where it has been reported that about 12,000 visitors had visited the sites during the weekends while the numbers were at 3,000 during weekdays who have witnessed the live artifacts used by and the life lived by the ancestors. Lasting for about four months, the course of fifth phase of excavation had unearthed more than 900 artifacts before wrapping up its edition yesterday.

The reports say that the archaeologists had exhumed nearly 50 trenches in the tenure of fifth phase after the state government had flagged additional 13 days of extension from the scheduled time of conclusion. During the fifth edition of excavation, Keezhadi had uncovered different sizes of pots, precious earthenware where after officially concluding the fifth phase, the state archaeological department had approached Central Advisory Board of Archaeology towards attaining consent for the sixth phase of excavation that will enhance the discoveries where the archaeologists will flag their camps in nearby villages which will certainly unearth more findings that might rewrite the history again.
