Netflix is ready to surprise its fans with a new Tamil film release Japan, which will be streaming on the platform from December 11. The film, directed by Raju Murugan, is a heist action comedy that features Karthi as a gold thief. The film also marks Karthi’s 25th movie in his career.
However, Japan did not receive a warm welcome from the critics and the audience when it was released in theatres earlier this year. The OTT giant took to social media to announce the launch of the film on its platform on Monday.
The post read, “Intha kadhai-la thimingalam sikkuma sikkadha nu paaka neenga ready ah? #Japan, coming to Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada on 11 Dec!”. The film released on November 10th, it finds itself in competition with 'Jigarthanda double x,' directed by Karthik Subburaj, and 'Raid' starring Vikram Prabhu, directed by Karthik.
The director of 'Japan,' Raju Murugan, a journalist-turned-director and a national award recipient for 'Joker'.. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, known for delivering memorable films like 'Joker,' 'Kaithi,' and 'Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru,' 'Japan' boasts a captivating musical score by GV Prakash. He also has a romantic track with Anu Emmanuel, who plays his love interest.
The film also has including KS Ravikumar, Sunil, Vijay Milton, Vagai Chandrasekhar, Bava Chelladurai and others.
