Kanguva: Makers unveil the fiery second look poster of the Suriya's epic fantasy!

Suriya, the National Award-winning actor, is all set to enthrall his fans with his upcoming film Kanguva, a period action drama directed by Siva. The makers of Kanguva have been teasing the audience with glimpses of the film for a while now. On Friday, they released the second look poster of Suriya from the film, which showed him riding on a horse, facing his tribe.

Studio Green took to Twitter and dropped the enigmatic second look picture, and wrote, "A warrior like no other! A King like none other! The King arrives  #GlimpseOfKanguva on 23rd of July!" The poster was released to build anticipation for the film teaser, which is expected to be out on July 23, coinciding with Suriya’s birthday. The film, which is one of the most expensive Indian films ever made, will feature Suriya in five different roles as a mighty warrior who leads a tribe of fire-wielders.

The film also marks the Tamil debut of Bollywood actress Disha Patani, who will play the female lead opposite Suriya.  The film is scheduled to release in early 2024 in 10 languages, including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Kanguva is written by Adi Narayana and has dialogues by Madhan Karky. The film is produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green and V. Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati of UV Creations. The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy and editing by Nishadh Yusuf. The film also stars Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, K. S. Ravikumar and B. S. Avinash in supporting roles.

Kanguva is Suriya’s 42nd film as a lead actor and his first collaboration with director Siva, who is known for his blockbuster films like Viswasam (2019) and Annaatthe (2021). The film is said to be a magnum opus that showcases the rich culture and history of Tamil Nadu. The film has been shot in various locations like Chennai, Goa, Kerala and Kodaikanal.
