As the state of Tamil Nadu is fast approaching the assembly polls, the political parties in the state have been making moves to checkmate the rivals in the polls and the major parties are mulling to make perfect and prudent moves with the help of the alliance. Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan has been preparing for his first legislative election and he has now revealed that he will ask his long-time friend Rajinikanth to support him in the election. 

Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan alliance has been in the fray of political speculations since both of them had announced their political entry. While Kamal Haasan won the race of firstly launching the political party, Rajinikanth is still in the work in progress mode to unveil his political party. There were speculations that both of them will form an alliance in the assembly polls which they had neither negated nor affirmed. 

Amid such speculations, Kamal Haasan had on Tuesday opened up about the possibilities of working with Rajinikanth. Speaking at the Makkal Needhi Maiam meeting on Tuesday in which former IAS officer Santhosh Babu had joined the party, Kamal Haasan said, "I'll go to every house during my campaign. Will I not go to my friend's (Rajinikanth) house? When it comes to Rajinikanth, I am concerned about his health than politics". 

"My first priority is the health of my friend Rajini. When we were in the same industry, we competed but there was no jealously. I'm more interested in my politics than my job and that's why I have kept my job to the side", Kamal Haasan added. Kamal's statement has met with more significance at the political stage as it has come at a high time when Rajinikanth had said he would announce his political entry as soon as possible. 

While meeting the functionaries of Rajini Makkal Mandram on Monday, Rajinikanth had kept the suspense on his political entry and instructed the functionaries to strengthen the base of the outfit at the ground level. The superstar asserted that the outfit has agreed to oblige his decision and added that he would make his final decision of entering politics as soon as possible. Kamal's statement has come a day after Rajinikanth's assertion of his political entry. 

The reports say that the statements from both the legendary actors had stirred speculations about the possibilities of getting allied with each other ahead of the assembly polls. Rajini's political entry is strongly expected at the national level as the Central ruling BJP has also been hoping that the actor would support the party in the state assembly polls. 

Kamal Haasan has also said that he will seek support and co-operation from Rajinikanth during the polls. Earlier in October, Makkal Needhi Maiam had convened its executive committee meeting in Chennai which was attended by Kamal Haasan and senior party leaders. Speaking at the executive committee meeting, Kamal Haasan said that it has been debated on whether Rajini will enter the politics and there has been news that the Makkal Needhi Maiam will form an alliance with Rajini. 

The actor turned politician said his party is neither waiting for Rajini nor for anyone and pressed that his party won't wait and doesn't need anyone, including Rajini. Kamal Haasan asked the leaders to concentrate on taking and upkeeping the party works and strategies. Months after the meeting, Kamal Haasan has now revealed that he would seek support and co-operation from Rajinikanth for the assembly polls.
