Kamal Haasan and Shankar are back with a bang! The duo, who created a sensation with the 1997 blockbuster Indian, are now working on the much-awaited sequel Indian 2. The film, which has been in the making for a long time, has finally resumed its post-production work and the makers have shared a glimpse of the dubbing session.
In a video shared by Lyca Productions by taking us to X, the film's production house, Kamal Haasan is seen having a friendly chat with Shankar and expressing his excitement about the film. They wrote, “A glimpse of dubbing session from INDIAN-2 ft. Ulaganayagan @ikamalhaasan & Director @shankarshanmugh Dubbing in Progress ”.
The actor is also seen dubbing for a crucial scene, where he reprises his role as Senapathy, the freedom fighter-turned-vigilante who fights against corruption. Kamal Haasan will also play another role in the film, which is yet to be revealed.
Indian 2 boasts of an ensemble cast that includes Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simhaa, Priya Bhavani Shankar, S. J. Suryah, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh and others. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Ravi Varman and Rathnavelu. The editing is done by A. Sreekar Prasad.
The film is expected to release in 2024 and will be a grand spectacle for the fans of Kamal Haasan and Shankar. The film will also mark the 25th anniversary of the original Indian, which was released in 1996.
