Soon after swearing-in, Joe Biden, who took office as the 46th President of the United States on Wednesday, has begun overhauling the divisive policies and administrative systems that were left by his predecessor Donald Trump. In his overhauling drive, Joe Biden has brought some changes in the Oval Office by removing the mechanisms used by Trump and one of such changes include removing a button installed by Trump on the resolute desk, which is the president's official desk in the White House.
The removed button is not what you think, it doesn't have any business related to the president's nuclear authorization or to alarm any emergencies, rather, that button was installed by Trump to alarm his staffer that he is thirsty and he needs a coke. The button that lied on the desk of the world's most powerful person seemed to be funny and when the purpose of the button came to light, it stirred global sarcasm, but it no longer would disturb the Oval Office and the White House as that button has gone into history after Biden removed it from the resolute desk.
The device installed at the desk wasn't visible in the slew of photos that captured Biden signing the executive orders of undoing Trump's divisive policies. Broadcaster and Journalist Tom Newton Dunn took to Twitter and put out the difference through sharing the photos that he was with Trump sitting near to the resolute desk and the latest photo of the resolute desk with Joe Biden. Such a button was obviously the first one that the resolute desk had carried in its history and it has now gone into history.
Taking to Twitter, Dunn wrote, "President Biden has removed the Diet Coke button. When Tim Shipman and I interviewed Donald Trump in 2019, we became fascinated by what the little red button did. Eventually, Trump pressed it, and a butler swiftly brought in a Diet Coke on a silver platter. It's gone now".
According to reports, Trump would regularly consume 12 cans of Diet Coke a day and a book written by former White House aide Chris Sims revealed that besides calling a coke for his thirst, Trump would also use the red button as a way of pranking visitors by claiming that the button could trigger nuclear arms and capabilities. He had pranked the visitors and once he pressed that button, they would be stunned to see that the President had triggered nuclear arms.
However, Sims stated that moments later, the visitors could see the entry of a butler carrying a glass filled with Diet Coke on a silver platter and Trump would burst out laughing. The Trump prank button has now been removed from the resolute desk and Biden has also carried out changes in the Oval Office including placing the framed photos of his family behind the Resolute Desk and a bust of Cesar Chavez, a Latin American workers' right activist.
After Dunn shared the news about Trump's button, his tweet has been getting widely shared and several Tweeple had expressed how they felt on Diet Coke button of Trump and most of them had hilariously reacted to the post with some users saying that Trump could have taken the red button with him to Florida and he thinks it will work if he just puts it on his desk in his Mar-a-Lago resort in the southern state, where he is going to spend the rest of his life.
