In a realm where anticipation has reached a crescendo, the long-awaited sequel to the revered cult classic, "Jigarthanda," nears completion with an awe-inspiring touch. The film, having graced the picturesque landscapes of Kerala and Chennai, today bids adieu to its final day of shooting. As the curtain falls on the shooting stage, the post-production will soon start.

Whispers from within the industry suggest that "Jigarthanda Double X" is poised to surpass expectations and deliver a narrative that will leave ardent fans of the original thoroughly satiated. The film's content-rich story pulsates that will satisfy the fans of the original, and fans will undoubtedly cherish.

The release scheduled to coincide with Diwali in 2023, as per official announcement from the makers earlier through the film’s  teaser,  gave a glimpse of the Western-inspired style and tone of the film. Raghava Lawrence sported a cowboy look, while SJ Suryah looked intense and menacing.

The teaser also featured the catchy tagline “A Shot Update”, hinting at the film’s high-octane action sequences. Karthik Subbaraj, who is known for his genre-bending films like Pizza, Petta and Mahaan, said that he was happy to return to the world of Jigarthanda and hoped that the film would live up to the expectations of the fans.

He also praised his cast and crew for their hard work and dedication. The film is produced by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam and Kathiresan under their banners Stone Bench Films and Five Star Creations respectively. The music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, who also scored the original film.
